ABOUT US

The Muslim Association Nakuru is a Non-Profit charitable Organization formed and registered under the Society’s Act in 1953. Muslim Association Nakuru was established to promote Diverse Community Developmental Interventions and empowerment among the Marginalized, underserved, and hard-to-reach Muslim Community members in Nakuru County. Muslim Association Nakuru, endeavours to Promote and Enhance Community Empowerment in areas of Religion, education, and Socio-cultural development.

The association collaborates and Works with the County and National Government of Kenya, the Community, the inter-religious leaders, and Local and International Development Partners to realize its objectives. One of the Muslim Association Nakuru’s main mandates is to offer the Muslim and Non-Muslim Communities, interventions in; Religious propagation and teachings, Health interventions in HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB Prevention, SRHR Advocacy in; Sex and Sexuality Education, Family Planning/Child Spacing, Maternal Child Health and Gender Equality Promotion and Gender-based Violence against Women and girls.

Our Interventions are anchored in the power of Resource Mobilization, Peacebuilding and Environmental Conservation, Citizen participation, and advocacy to eradicate poverty, End inequalities, gender-based violence, and Social Injustices, and bring about lasting positive change and sustainable development. In this regard, we propose to organize, mobilize, and build the capacities and resilience of marginalized and hard-to-reach groups to effectively advocate for themselves toward their socio-economic development.

OBJECTIVES
  • Membership shall be subject to approval.
  • The principles of Islam, as derived from the Quran and Sunnah, shall serve as the foundation of the Association's actions and decisions.
  • The Association shall operate autonomously and maintain its independence.
  • The pursuit of peace and the resolution of conflicts through amicable means shall be prioritized for the betterment of humanity.
  • The welfare of all Muslims shall be a primary concern.
  • The Association shall uphold principles of accountability in its operations.
  • Integrity shall be upheld in all aspects of the Association's activities.
